An Integrated Multi-Criterion Decision-Making Analysis to Rank the Pareto-Front Solutions of Time-Cost Trade-Off Problems

In the construction management planning, both client and contractor are interested in completing project within planned schedule. To achieve it, time-cost trade-off problem (TCTP) is carried-out to obtain optimal set of alternatives. Although Pareto front solutions not preferred each other, decision-maker (DM) has choose only best solution. The DMs neither well-educated nor have adequate knowledge make proper decisions. Thus, such a choice be made through additional preferences included original formulation optimization problem. better support meta-heuristic outputs, this paper, an integration entropy weight, simple additive weighting (SAW), technique for order preference by similarity ideal solution (TOPSIS) modelled solve MCDM problem, while Teaching Learning Based Optimization (TLBO) algorithm applied proposed multi-objective decision-making model. model, weights selections done objectively demonstrate variation on rankings approaches. While served determine weight criteria from matrix data TOPSIS method employed rank alternative solutions. methodology utilized well-known problems. obtained results compared against provided (SAW) approach investigate efficiency Results that present model can favorable decision-makers.
